Turning 18 is a big moment. It means the start of life as an adult. But children don’t learn to live independently overnight, it takes time to master adult life.
Our specialist teams offer round-the-clock support to young adults while they get to grips with adult life. We assist with daily tasks such as cooking and personal hygiene so they get into a healthy routine. Plus, we teach them how to budget their finances so they have some money set aside for a rainy day.
As well as assisting with the practicalities of daily life, we also help young people prepare their mindset for the future. Our therapeutic techniques and mentoring teach them how to motivate themselves, maintain a healthy self-image and develop unflappable confidence.
By the time they reach 18, people leave our care as confident, capable young adults with bright futures ahead of them.

In addition to our practical services, our staff empower young people to set ambitious goals. And, as Ofsted noted in their report, our case records show the exceptional progress young people make when they’re encouraged to think bigger and aim higher.
The report praised how “Staff help children achieve their goals and prepare for independent living. One child was supported to set up their own business.”
In 2003, the UK government set up the Every Child Matters Act to improve child care by making organisations that provide services to children work better together.
The act set out the Government’s proposal for improving services’ ability to achieve five outcomes that are considered essential to their well-being in childhood and later life.
The five outcomes stated that every child shall be safe, healthy, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve economic well-being.
In 2010, the coalition government amended the terminology of the act and renamed it ‘Helping Children to Achieve More’. However, the act is still focused on better outcomes for children.
Although our care packages are tailored to the needs of each child, they are all designed with these five outcomes in mind.
